Last week’s post is a gentle introduction to finite dimensional vector spaces, and extending from the concepts in the Euclidean space. Concepts such as direct sums and polynomial function spaces were introduced. In this week, we introduce new concepts studying the structure of linear operators, looking at vector spaces associated with linear maps, isomorphisms, dual spaces, products of vector spaces and quotients of vector spaces.
The last post was our formulaic alpha:
The next post will discuss invariant subspaces. Also, a combined post with a fellow quant discussing novel quantitative test methods is anticipated. We will also release formulaic alpha reports in the following week.
Our market notes contain 615 pages running discussion on theoretical and practical quantitative methods, and is coming along well to be an invaluable handbook for quant practicioners to top up and revise their models rooted in scientific theory.
P.S. While some of the proofs are referenced, many of the proofs are also original and therefore prone to error. I appreciate any corrections in the workings or logical flaws. All efforts (including spelling!) are appreciated and are helpful to compile a valuable, error-free quant handbook.
Happy studying.
